The Gateway Bug Feature Documentary Screening | Melbourne

$16 – $20.50The exciting screening of award-winning eco foodie documentary The Gateway Bug is being held on Tuesday February 19 at 7:00pm at the Cinema Nova, 380 Lygon St, Carlton. The screening will be accompanied by edible insect canapes and a Q&A panel moderated by Tamara Dimattina of The New Joneses and featuring the filmmakers, sustainability-focussed chef Ben McMenamin (of the Social Food Project) and visiting edible insect American entrepreneur Kevin Bacchuber (US).
The documentary follows the rise and fall of edible-insect start-ups in America, investigating the West’s disconnection with food, and offering a fresh solution to the world’s broken food system. Over 2 billion people eat insects for protein and edible insects could play a key role in the future of food.
