Ocean Conservancy’s 34th International Coastal Cleanup
Around the world, our ocean is facing a major threat—marine debris. Plastic has been found in 59% of sea birds, 100% of sea turtle species, and more than 25% of fish sampled from seafood markets around the world. Help protect our ocean and the millions of species that call it home. Become an ocean hero and volunteer on September 21st at signuptocleanup.org.
On September 21st, Ocean Conservancy is calling for everyone to join the 34th annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) – the world’s largest single-day volunteer effort to fight ocean plastics.
Since its inception, ICC volunteers have kept more than 315 million pounds of trash and plastic out of the ocean. Just last year, the ICC was the first to reach more than 1 million volunteers around the world.
Ocean plastic is one of the most visible and most prolific threats facing our ocean today; it’s also one of the most preventable.
To join the movement to protect our oceans, mark this date on your calendar, share the event with your networks, sign up here and head to oceanconservancy.org to learn about the ICC event nearest you.
