Hey guys,
It’s been ages since I’ve sent out a newsletter because the last month or so has been the busiest EWP has ever been, so much so that my partner Ben is currently working with us full-time (yay!) and lending not only his amazing skillsets but working to build operational systems and structures as EWP continues to expand and I focus on maintaining our busy editorial schedule.
Earlier this month, EWP also celebrated her 9th birthday. WOOHOO! As many of you may be aware, I launched EWP in 2010 as a lone blogger, an activist with a passion for politics, economics, environment, social justice and fashion (my sustainable fashion journey began in 2008 after a business trip to China which opened my eyes to the many issues hidden from consumers).
With the Amazon Rainforest fires, the recent G7 Summit, moderating a panel discussion at Brisbane’s EKKA, executing brand campaigns and trying to maintain a personal life and failing (partying with family on the weekend, I lost my phone at a Fleetwood Mac concert, boo to the phone loss, yay to seeing Stevie Nicks!), there’s been much to commiserate, celebrate, consider and coordinate.
Thank you for your continued support over these years; for commenting, sharing, discussing, debating, messaging and passing along our articles and essays to your networks. EWP continues to grow from strength to strength and it would not be the trusted and respected sustainability-focussed media brand it is without you. As we maintain a long-term focus and continue to execute our strategy, we’re looking for partners who understand the value we provide to our global community and who wish to work with us over the long-term. So if you run a business and you believe it aligns with EWP’s core audience and strong values, feel free to reply to this email with your interest in a partnership!
Anyway, here’s what I’ve been watching, reading and listening to:
Podcast Shows / Films:
Bernie Sanders, The Joe Rogan Experience. Bernie Sanders is a 2020 Presidential Candidate of the Democratic Party and is currently serving as the U.S. Senator of Vermont.
Facts Aren’t Enough: The Psychology of False Beliefs, Hidden Brain. This podcast show looks at how people rely on those they trust to shape their beliefs, and why facts aren’t always enough to change people’s minds.
Books:
Stung! On Jellyfish Blooms and the Future of the Ocean by Lisa-ann Gershwin (gifted to me by Gail my future mother-in-law who met this science writer at a recent writer’s festival).
