This gorgeous little bottle of rosehip oil goodness arrived at my house at the perfect moment, as a sufferer of KP (Keratosis Pilaris, a common skin condition, which shows up as tiny bumps on the skin, think goosebumps or the skin of a plucked chicken and you get the idea) and on a mission to improve my skin, I have been incorporating new products to combat not only the KP itself but the scarring that comes with it.
I had high expectations for the beauty elixir that sells a bottle every 20 seconds along with holding a bunch of awards under its belt; that’s impressive and surely the numbers would speak for themselves?
First off I was pleased to see that there were no added ingredients, this product is simply made with only pure Certified Organic Rosehip Oil (Rosa Canuna Seed Oil). Secondly, it comes in a glass bottle (the bathroom is where I’m trying to remove the most single-use plastic!).
Extracted from the seeds of organically grown rosehips, this oil is said to be a super food for the skin; according to the brand a solvent-free extraction process is used to guarantee a minimum 80 percent essential fatty acid (omega 3, 6 and 9) to deliver all-over nourishment and help hydrate, repair and strengthen skin health. Its potent natural actives make it highly effective for scars (my main concern), stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin concerns including dehydrated and ageing skin.
How I road tested the Trilogy Rosehip Oil
The bottle suggests gently massaging 2-3 drops into your face and/or body morning and night alone or in conjunction with your regular moisturising products… and so I did just that! I opted to apply in the morning, and often after a dry body brushing session (if you don’t know what that is, it’s exactly as it sounds, it’s exfoliating the skin with nothing but a dry brush).
My verdict
The consistency was a little thicker than I expected but after a week of using the natural beauty product, I became accustomed to it. I was mostly pleased with the level of hydration that came with using the oil on my arms (KP target area) and on my face, resulting in a fresh-faced look even after applying my makeup for the day.
My KP scarring is seeing slow gradual improvement and I think with long-term use this product will greatly improve my skin.
